    Quds Bank commences business in its new branch in Bethlehem

     

    Bethlehem – 02/09/2014 – Quds Bank has declared commencement of business and receiving of customers as of Tuesday, in its new branch in Bethlehem, Al-Mahad Street, whereas the number of branches has reached 27 branches and offices spread in various governorates of the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.

    The opening of this new branch comes within an expansion and branching plan in which the Bank seeks to apply throughout the year 2014, whereas the Bank has, since the beginning of this year, opened 5 branches and offices in the West Bank and Gaza. Moreover, the sixth branch will soon be opened in the governorate of Bethlehem.

    Furthermore, Quds Bank General Manager, SameehSubaih, announced the launching of operations in the new branch officially as of Tuesday, and has added by saying: “we consider the year 2014 as a year of branching and expansion, whereas we will soon reach 27 branches and offices. Also, what truly distinguishes us is that we, at Quds bank, carefully study the needs of our customers in different regions, and the Bank’s continuation to open new branches and offices in light of difficult economic and political conditions is but an emphasis on the Bank’s commitment to continue building and investing, as well as its conviction to bypass difficulties with full resolve and determination in order to communicate its banking services to its customers wherever they are with high quality and outstanding performance”.

    It is noted that Quds bank is currently the second largest local bank in Palestine and is considered as one of the most rapid growing banks in terms of size and other aspects with respect to generating profitability, services and businesses. On April 2nd, 1995 Quds Bank was established as a public share holding company, with a capital of US$ 20 million divided into 20 million shares at a nominal value of $1 for each share. On 26 July 2006, the Bank’s capital had been increased to 50 million U.S. Dollars, with the same nominal value, paid in full.

    The Bank practices its business activities through its headquarters which is located in Ramallah, Al Massiyoun, as well as its various branches and offices spread all over the country.

    Quds Bank has realizedpretax profit of 5.1 million U.S. Dollars, at a growth rate of 45%

    Ramallah – 2014 – Akram Abdel-Latif Jerab, Chairman of Quds Bank, has announced the preliminary semi-annual financial results of year 2014, indicating therein the realization of net profits before taxes amounting to 5.1 million U.S. Dollars    , at a growth rate of 45% compared to the same period of year 2013.

    Abdel-Latif has attributed this growth in the indicators of the Bank to the implementation of the Bank’s administration of ambitious plans in developing the Bank’s various businesses and the launching of new banking services and products and the improvement of existing services, to meet all the needs of individuals, organizations and companies, enabling the administration to distribute assets in an optimal, improved and effective way.

    Abdel-Latif has also added that these results come in line with our expectations and plans which are aimed at realizing balance between growth, profitability, compliance with the adopted rules and policies for risk management, assets’ quality and procedural safety, consistent with the requirements of the Palestinian Monetary Authority. These results also demonstrate the extent of growth and progress realized by the Bank in its various financial indicators; whereas the Bank has succeeded in developing its deposits and credits, contributing to raising its share in the Palestinian Banking Market and enhancing the Bank’s Capital Base. Moreover, the Bank has continued the management of assets and liabilities in accordance with cohesive policies and outstanding practices.

    Furthermore, Abdel-Latif has declared that the Bank’s assets have grown at a rate of 12% compared to the end of year 2013, whereas they have amounted to 600 million U.S. Dollars as at 30/06/2014. Also, net credit has reached 320 million U.S Dollars at a growth of 33 million U.S. Dollars and at a rate of 11% compared with the end of year 2013. The Bank has also realized a growth in deposits amounting to 47 million U.S. Dollars at a rate of 11%.

    He also added by declaring that: “gross income has grown at a rate of 17.5%, whereas it reached 15.8 million U.S. Dollars for the first half of year 2014 compared to 13.5 million U.S. Dollars for the same period of the previous year.

    The Bank was able to realize a tangible growth in the basic indicators, indicating the strength of the Bank’s capital base and the growing confidence of customers in the Bank. Proceeding from the Bank’s strategy of expansion and growth, Quds Bank has opened a number of new branches and offices to reach 27 branches and offices, emphasizing the faultlessness of the strategic plans implemented by the Bank’s higher administration which bears its fruit in realizing a balanced growth in all the Bank’s businesses and activities under the guidance of the Board of Directors.

    Moreover, Abdel-Latif has illustrated that within the strategic vision adopted by the Bank comes the effective contribution in the sustainable community and economic development, and the Bank’s constant quest to attract investors who wish to enter the Palestinian market in order tobenefit this industry and increase its position and capacities, and enhance the Bank's capital adequacy and achieve return on shareholders' funds.

    In conclusion, Abdel-Latif thanked the members of the Board for their cooperation and contribution, and praised the efforts of the higher administration and all the Bank staff for doing all that is possible and for their cooperation in realizing the Bank’s goals.

    Quds Bank awards the winner from Tubas with a 2014 Hyundai Accent

     

    Tubas – 10/08/2014 – within the “Correct Saving (TawfernaSah)” campaign for year 2014, Quds Bank has awarded a customs-paid 2014 Hyundai Accent to the winner, Thaer Samer YousefDaraghmeh whose saving account is opened with Tubas branch. Such had taken place within the awarding activities held at the branch and before the governor of Tubas governorate, RibhiKhandagji, a number of the Directors of Security Services in the area, Municipal and Local Councils Heads, representatives of the People's Committee for the services of Al-Fara’a Refugee Camp as well as a number of legal entities and a delegation of the executive committee.

    The Executive-Manager for individuals’ banking services, Mustafa Abu Zaid, gave a speech congratulating therein the winner and his family for the award, and introducing the services provided by the Bank and the products being launched including the most recent, which is the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip Credit Program, whereas the Bank shall provide a credit facility with many advantages to ease the difficult and hard situation being experienced by our people in the Gaza Strip.

    He also added by saying: “we believe in the Bank’s vision which is represented in enhancing the habit of saving amongst the citizens due to its effect on the future of the national economy, whereas Quds Bank offers annual campaigns with competitive and distinctive prizes designed to encourage the citizens on saving, in our branches that are spread across the West Bank and the Gaza Strip”.

    On the other hand, the winner Daraghmeh expressed his overwhelming joy by saying that: “I never expected to win such a prize, especially because mu account is still new and the saved amount is very little, but today I have won with Quds Bank a customs-paid 2014 Hyundai Accent.     Ramallah – 23/07/2014 – Quds Bank has donated toady, Wednesday, emergency medicines and medical equipment to the hospitals of the Strip at a value of 50,000 U.S. Dollars; proceeding from it social responsibility and the Bank’s keenness to contribute in supporting the resilience of our people in the Gaza Strip in light of the continuous barbarian aggression which they are subjected to, and to aid all those injured from children, women and elders.  

    This aid comes within a series of activities undertaken by the Bank to offer nutritional aid and basic health requirements, whereas the Bank has undertaken several activities during the past period most recently was, a blood donation campaign carried out by the employees of the Bank in the various governorates of the country in cooperation with the National Blood bank. In addition to distributing food parcels to families in need in cooperation with the Welfare Association, as well as donating medicines and medical supplies.

    For his part, Quds Bank General Manager, SameehSubaih, has commented by saying that: “the Bank did not hesitate to donate medicines and medical supplies to the hospitals of the Strip at a value of 50 thousand U.S. Dollars. Our donation today stems from a humanitarian and relief perspective to the distress calls of the people of Gaza in order to cover the severe deficit in medicines and medical supplies. He also added by saying that: “this is the least we can do to aid the civilians in the Gaza Strip, and it is an obligation of all the companies and institutions of the Palestinian private sector to offer aid to our people in Gaza in light of prevailing situation. 

    Quds Bank’s contributions stems from its social and humanitarian responsibility towards the Palestinian people of the Gaza Strip and their dire needs in all aspects of life, especially medical and relief services, in addition to basic and nutritional needs.

    Quds Bank provides food parcels to the Gaza Strip

     

    Due to the difficult humanitarian conditions experienced by the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, and proceeding from its social responsibility, Quds Bank has provided emergency food parcels in response to the urgent distress call made by Welfare Association for aiding our people and the residents of the Gaza Strip and offering food subsidies to contribute in easing the effects of war there, and for covering the pressing livelihood, nutritional and health needs responsive to the lowest elements of dignity of our Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.

    This aid comes within a series of activities undertaken by the Bank to offer nutritional aid and basic health requirements to hospitals in the Gaza Strip, based on the conditions experienced by the children and residents in light of the prevailing situation there. Such has urged the Bank to take immediate action and contribute in aiding our people in the Strip with food parcels to be distributed to families affected by the war.
