Quds Bank signed a sponsorship agreement with the Palestinian Union of Information Systems Companies (Beta) recognizing its strategic sponsorship of the Palestine Sixth Technology Week (Expotech 2019), held in Ramallah on November 5, 2019.

The signing ceremony, which took place at Quds Bank’s headquarters, was attended by Quds Bank Chief Executive Officer Salah Hidmi and Palestinian Information Systems Companies Union (Beta) Chairman Sa’id Zaidan, and saw the participation of executive team members from both organizations.

At the signing, Hidmi said, “Quds Bank is delighted to sponsor and act as the strategic partner for Expotech’s sixth cycle under the slogan ‘The Rise of the Fintech and Blockchain.’ Quds Bank’s participation in the Expotech 2019 is based on its understanding of the importance of financial technology and remaining up to date in a rapidly changing sector. The bank has always been a pioneer in the innovation and development of electronic services and digital solutions that effectively benefit the public, and our participation in the expo is testament to that fact.”

Hidmi noted that financial technology has emerged as a main factor in the current changes to the traditional banking industry. Innovative banking services have increased efficiency and reduced cost, and they are being used to reinforce the use of financial technology in industry around the world. Quds Bank has been a forerunner in the adoption of the latest developments in line with international best practices. He went on to add that the technology revolution in Palestine requires a real partnership between private and public sector institutions in order to offer advanced services and products.

At the ceremony, Zaidan expressed his gratitude to Quds Bank for its strategic sponsorship of Expotech. He noted that Beta and the bank are in the process of finalizing the terms of cooperation as well as discussing ways to collaborate in the future in order to serve the country’s economic sector. He noted that this year, Expotech will explore integration of the roles of the public and private sectors, as well as academia in order to build an integrated system of financial and banking technology and different electronic services. Zaidan affirmed that Expotech is the real nucleus for networking among companies operating together, and networking with youth, graduates, and startups in the field.

He added that Expotech is still the most significant event in Palestine’s communications and information technology sector, and this year will discuss services to develop financial services technology. This can manifest with a partnership among various sectors to support and develop modern financial technology companies, provide financing sources, create a competitive environment to this industry, and provide the infrastructure of legislations and laws regulating the activities of these companies in order to reinforce financial services at low costs for all marginalized sectors and integrate them in the financial system.
